Budi Gunadi Sadikin Admits Part Of The MBG Kitchen Don't Have SLHS
JAKARTA - Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin admitted that part of the kitchen organizers of the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program or the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) do not yet have a Sanitation Higiene Feasibility Certificate (SLHS).
Even so, Budi admitted that he had not received complete data on how many MBG kitchens did not yet have SLHS.
"The data is incomplete with me, but I know most of it is still in process," he said at a press conference at the Ministry of Health, Jakarta, Sunday, September 28.
Budi emphasized that the government will accelerate the process of fulfilling these standards to ensure food safety for Indonesian children.
"We will accelerate this sanitation so that all existing SPPGs meet the standards of cleanliness, standards from the people, standards from the process to be better, it is hoped that everything will be completed in one month," he said.

However, Budi assessed that the acceleration of the SLHS alone was not enough to ensure that the poisoning incident would not be repeated. According to him, strict supervision has been needed since the preparation stage of the food.
"We together with BGN will control starting from the selection of food ingredients, processing, to serving them. We will help all of this so that it doesn't happen again," he said.
Budi said the Ministry of Health is also preparing nutritionists to temporarily assist in the implementation of the MBG program.
"I am preparing the nutrition expert, while we will help from the Ministry of Health," he said.
