JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation Dudy Puwagandhi tried to travel using Trans Banjarbakula from the Type A Peat Barakat Terminal to the 0 Km Banjarmasin Siring Stop in order to inspect transportation nodes in South Kalimantan.
Trans Banjarbakula is one of the Teman Bus programs which was originally initiated by the Ministry of Transportation in 2022.
After going well, the management of the bus with the buy the service (BTS) scheme was taken over by the South Kalimantan regional government in 2024.
The Teman Bus program with the BTS scheme is a symbol of the central government's support for the development of safe, comfortable, and affordable urban mass transportation for the people of South Kalimantan.
Dudy hopes that through this visit, it is also hoped that the synergy between the central and regional governments will be stronger in realizing sustainable public transportation and increasing regional connectivity.
"I appreciate the South Kalimantan Provincial Government for its great support for public transportation services. My hope is that this can continue to grow public interest in using public transportation. This can be a model for other provinces in Indonesia," said Dudy in an official statement, Friday, September 26.
During this visit, Dudy also saw firsthand the condition of transportation facilities and infrastructure in Banjarmasin. Especially at the Terminal of Type A passengers Gambit Barakat.
Terminal Type A Gambit Barakat has an area of 42.000 m2 with a building area of 5.848 m2. In 2024, Terminal Type A serves a total of 1.844.169 passengers (departing and arriving) and 187.245 vehicles (departing and returning).
