NATO Ready To Shoot Russian Plane Crash, Kremlin: Fighter Jet Violates Territory Of Unfounded Allegations

JAKARTA - The Kremlin declined to discuss a Bloomberg report that said European diplomats had personally warned Moscow of NATO's readiness to fire any Russian plane that violates European airspace.

Bloomberg reported that Britain, France and Germany's envoys had delivered the warning at a meeting in Moscow.

When asked how Russia would respond if NATO shot down a Russian plane, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: "You know, I don't even want to talk about this; this is a very irresponsible statement."

"This is very irresponsible because of accusations against Russia that its military aircraft violated airspace and entered the airspace of a baseless person. No convincing evidence has been submitted," he said.

NATO said three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets violated Estonia's airspace on September 19 and remained there 12 minutes before they were forced to withdraw.

NATO countries, which dismissed Russia's rebuttal, accuse Moscow of reckless and provocative behavior.

Estonian incidents came nine days after Poland shot down a Russian drone that violated its airspace. Britain said this week that Russian attacks increased the risk of direct armed confrontation with NATO.
