1,400 Drone Hiasi Langit Jakarta, A Sign Of The Birth Of Indonesia's Creative Performance Identity

JAKARTA - The drone show is now present as an innovation that enriches Indonesian cultural attractions. Modern technological alloys with the richness of the archipelago tradition provide an exciting new experience, as well as open up space for expressions for the country's creative talents to appear on the global stage.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar said drone show performances can complement cultural and traditional attractions and increase the potential for accelerating the creativity of the nation's children to be proud of on the world stage.

Indonesia has talent, technology, and enthusiasm. Drone shows have the potential to become a new engine of growth for our creative economy sub-sector. With cross-sectoral collaboration, we can present creative works that not only make the nation proud, but also inspire the world," Irene said as quoted by ANTARA.

He assessed that drone shows have the potential for acceleration as a medium for actualizing the creativity of the nation's children, including through integration in Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) as a complement to cultural and traditional attractions. This show also has the opportunity to be expanded to big cities in Java and outside Java so that public access to creative works becomes more equitable.

Apart from being an entertainment medium, drone shows are considered capable of creating new jobs for creative and technical talents from various regions. Irene added that the presence of this show could strengthen Indonesia's position in the country's typical creative performance industry at the international level.

Irene made this statement during an audience with MahakaX and Arka Entertainment to evaluate the drone performance during the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at the HI Roundabout on August 17, 2025.

The show, which featured 1,400 drones, managed to attract hundreds of thousands of viewers as well as go viral on social media. He hopes that the use of drone shows as a creative medium can continue.

"Drone shows are a tangible manifestation of how technology, creativity, and nationalism can unite in the sky of Jakarta. In the future, we want to make it part of the Ministry of Creative Economy's official calendar, both in music, film, culture, and culinary. This is a real example that the work of the nation's children can be equivalent to world-class performances," said Irene.

During the hearing, MahakaX and Arka Entertainment also conveyed the results of the achievements and evaluation of the implementation of the August 17 drone show, as well as initiated strategic collaboration steps with the Ministry of Creative Economy. Arka Entertainment co-founder, Ronny W. Sugiadha, expressed his appreciation for the government's support.

"We are proud to be able to present 100 percent of Indonesia's work, from pilots to designers. Success on August 17 is a foothold for long-term consistency. We hope the drone show can be expanded to other big cities and become the identity of Indonesia's creative show in the eyes of the world," said Ronny.
