Like Wet Underwear? Be Careful, Can Cause Serious Female Problems

JAKARTA - Keeping underwear clean is a mandatory thing when we talk about the health of intimate areas. One of the important rules that are often overlooked is never wearing wet underwear.

Panties do function to provide comfort while keeping the vagina clean and dry. But if used in wet conditions, it can actually trigger many problems, ranging from bacterial growth, unpleasant odors, itching, to irritation.

This wet condition can occur for many reasons, for example not to dry the body properly after bathing or defecating, the problem of cessation (urinary incontinence), excessive sweat, or vaginal fluids that come out too much.

"Deep deep is an important part of self-cleaning that is directly related to vaginal health," said Dr. Darshan HB, Specialist in Content and Foodoscopic Surgery from Motherhood Hospital, Bengaluru, quoted from the Healthshots page.

"Whether you want to choose comfortable cotton underwear or a more fashionable model, everything can still affect the condition of the intimate area," he continued.

According to dr. Darshan, vaginal skin is so sensitive that it is prone to irritation and infection. Therefore, wearing wet underwear can increase the risk of infection.

Avoid sitting or doing activities in wet underwear after bathing or exercise. The impact of wearing wet underwear is too long:

- Wetting underwear can cause irritation, redness, and even rashes on the vagina.

- The risk of fungal infection in the feminine area increases.

- Infection can cause inflammation, severe itching, redness, and pain when urinating or having sex.

- The moist environment accelerates the growth of bacteria.

- Wet underwear can also interfere with the vaginal pH balance.

- Symptoms of infection are usually mild to moderate, but it could be serious if left untreated.

Not only wet underwear due to water, excessive sweat can also be a problem. In addition to making it uncomfortable, sweat can cause smell and increase the risk of infection.

"Many people are lazy to change their underwear after exercise, even though it is dangerous. Synthetic ingredients tend to hold back moisture so that bacteria are easier to develop," said Dr. Darshan

Tips For Maintaining Panties Cleaning

1. Choose cotton underwear.

2. Diligently tidy up your pubic hair so that the area remains dry.

3. Change your underwear immediately after exercise or activities that make you sweat a lot.

4. When sleeping, try to make it easier not to wear underwear so that intimate areas can 'breathing'

5. If you are menstruating, change your underwear more often because it gets dirty quickly.

In general, wearing one underwear a day is still considered reasonable, as long as there is no excessive sweat or a lot of vaginal fluid. But don't hesitate to replace it more often if you feel uncomfortable or the intimate area starts to feel moist.
