DPR Condemns The Murder Of 5 Civilians In Yahukimo Papua By KKB: TNI-Polri Immediately Investigate!

JAKARTA - Member of Commission I of the DPR, TB Hasanuddin, condemned the brutal attack by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) which killed five civilians in Seradala District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains.

TB Hasanuddin emphasized that the attack that occurred from Sunday, September 20 to Monday, September 21 was a crime against humanity that could not be justified for any reason.

"The victim is an innocent civilian who should be protected," said TB Hasanuddin to reporters, Thursday, September 25.

The TNI (Ret.) Major General also urged the TNI-Polri security forces to immediately thoroughly investigate the incident, and arrest the perpetrators and take firm action in accordance with applicable law.

In addition to law enforcement, TB assessed that the state must also be present more comprehensively in Papua through a approach to welfare, education, health, and constructive dialogue.

"The state must not be defeated by the violence of armed groups. I support the government's move to maintain security stability in Papua," said TB Hasanuddin.

Previously, the Head of Damai Cartenz Operations, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, said that the KKB terror action led by Elkius Kobak took place on September 20-21, 2025.

"We are conducting an in-depth investigation following the violent act that killed five civilians by the KKB led by Elkius Kobak," Faizal said in his statement, Wednesday, September 24.

Based on witness testimony, the KKB led by Elkius Kobak attacked him with mining work to death. The attack was carried out on Jalan Poros Kampung Bingki, Seradala District, Sunday, September 20.

The next day, the KKB launched another attack on Camp Kali Kulum. The group used arrows and firearms, causing panic among the miners.

In this action, three mining workers again became victims of the KKB's ferocity. "We received information that three more bodies were victims of this armed criminal group," he said.
