Government Brings Good News! Electricity Tariffs For All Groups Until December 2025 Will Not Increase

JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has set electricity tariffs for PT PLN (Persero) customers in the fourth quarter or October to December 2025.

Acting Director General of Electricity Tri Winarno said, as stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 7 of 2024 concerning Tariff Electricity (Tariff Adjustment) provided by PT PLN (Persero), that the adjustment of electricity tariffs for non-subsidized customers is carried out every 3 months referring to changes to the realization of macroeconomic parameters, namely: exchange rate, Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), inflation, and Reference Coal Price (HBA).

"By using macroeconomic realization for Tariff Adjustment in the fourth quarter of 2025, which accumulated the impact of macroeconomic change should lead to an increase in electricity rates. However, to maintain people's purchasing power, the government has decided whether the electricity tariff is fixed or not to increase", said Tri, Wednesday, September 24.

Tri said the electricity tariff for subsidized customers also did not change and was still given electricity subsidies.

This includes social customers, poor households, small industries, and customers who use electricity for micro, small and medium enterprises or MSMEs.

"The government is committed to providing reliable, affordable, and fair electricity. By maintaining electricity tariffs until the end of this year, we want to provide certainty and maintain stability for the community and the business world," said Tri.

Seperti diketahui, penerapan Tariff Adjustment terakhir dilakukan pada Triwulan III 2022 untuk pelanggan Rumah Tangga 3.500 VA ke atas (R2 dan R3) dan Pemerintah (P1, P2, dan P3).

Untuk golongan pelanggan lainnya terakhir diterapkan penyesuaian tarif pada tahun 2020.

Tri menegaskan meskipun tarif listrik tetap, upaya untuk meningkatkan keandalan pasokan listrik, memperluas akses, dan mendorong transisi energi tetap berjalan.

Pemerintah bersama PT PLN (Persero) akan terus memperkuat infrastruktur kelistrikan serta mendorong penggunaan energi baru terbarukan (EBT) dalam bauran energi nasional.

As is known, the last application of Tariff Adjustment was carried out in the third quarter of 2022 for household customers of 3,500 VA and above (R2 and R3) and the Government (P1, P2, and P3).

For other groups of customers, the last tariff adjustment was applied in 2020.

Tri emphasized that although electricity rates remain, efforts to increase the reliability of electricity supply, expand access, and encourage energy transitions to continue.

The government together with PT PLN (Persero) will continue to strengthen electricity infrastructure and encourage the use of new and renewable energy (EBT) in the national energy mix.
