JAKARTA - Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Marshal TNI Mohamad Tonny Harjono emphasized that the unit continues to focus on working on and running food security programs initiated by the central government as an effort to make Indonesia a world food barn.

"The Indonesian Air Force is focused on supporting government programs in the national food security sector," said KSAU Marshal TNI Mohamad Tonny Harjono in a written statement received in Padang City, Wednesday, confiscated by Antara.

Especially in West Sumatra, the TNI planted corn and has succeeded in carrying out the main harvest at the Sutan Sjahrir Air Base (Lanud), Padang City, West Sumatra Province.

"The success of the corn harvest at Sutan Sjahrir Air Base is a tangible manifestation of the synergy between the Indonesian Air Force, especially Sutan Sjahrir Air Base and the community," said Marshal Tonny Harjono.

During his visit to Ranah Minang, KSAU together with PIA General Chair Ardhya Garini also handed over corn seeds and food packages to foster farmers as well as carrying out corn harvests with local farmers.

To the fostered farmers, KSAU emphasized that the Indonesian Air Force continues to be committed to synergizing with the community in supporting government programs, especially in the field of food security. This is in line with the direction of the head of state to achieve national food self-sufficiency.

The presence of KSAU in the corn harvest at Sutan Sjahrir Air Base is also a moral boost for fostered farmers to continue to develop the agricultural sector. In addition to strengthening the internal solidity of the Indonesian Air Force, this activity also strengthens the unity of the Indonesian Air Force with the people through real efforts to support food security.
