SenengMinton Solo Festival Followed By 451 Students

JAKARTA A total of 451 students from first to third grade from 16 elementary schools (SD) became participants of the SenengMinton Solo Festival 2025.

The competition, which aims to grow the love of badminton at the early age level, initiated by the Djarum Foundation Sports Service together with the Central Java PBSI Provincial Management (Pengprov), was held at the UNS FKOR GOR on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Djarum Foundation's Director of Sports Service, Yoppy Rosimin, said that this festival was held as an effort to spread positive viruses to students to love badminton from an early age.

"Through this competition, we hope the participants are happy to get acquainted with badminton and motivated to take it more seriously," said Yoppy.

Deputy Chairperson of the Central Java PBSI Provincial Government, Yuni Kartika, said that it is very important to introduce badminton since an early age to get further coaching.

"Seeing the high enthusiasm of participants in this series, it is hoped that badminton interest will echo from an early age so that later in schools badminton extracurricular can be created," he said.

The SenengMinton Solo 2025 Festival implements an individual system with a winning assessment based on the fastest time records. This is different from the SenengMinton Festival in Kudus which adopted a team system.

For third-grade participants, there are five types of hurdles, namely service to target, shuttle run, pyramid shuttlecock, throwing the shuttlecock, and zig zag run.

Meanwhile, for first and second grade participants, the service to target race is eliminated from the five races.

Each school sends first-class students consisting of four sons and two daughters. As for the second class, there are 10 participants per school with a composition of six sons and four daughters. Then, in the third class category, per school sent eight sons and six daughters.

The presence of the SenengMinton Festival in Solo received a positive response from a number of schools, especially the Joglo Surakarta State Elementary School which sent a total of 30 students to follow all categories.

"With this competition, we want to intensify extracurricular activities in schools and hope that the SenengMinton Festival can be sustainable," said Surakarta Joglo State Elementary School Sports Teacher Sugeng.

The winners of the SenengMinton Festival in each competition get trophies, coaching money, and gifts from sponsors, namely MilkLife, Kenko, Aice, and Hundred. In addition, all participants also received goodie bags from MilkLife, Kenko, Dua Kelinci, and Aice.

The SenengMinton Festival will then take place in Magelang, Semarang, and Purwokerto. Expanding this festival to various cities aims to make the nursery and coaching of badminton evenly.
