Hope Yalimo Is Conducive After-Conflict, Ministry Of Social Affairs Distributes Logistics Assistance Of 500 Refugees
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) hopes that the problems that occur in Yalimo Regency, Papua Mountains, will end soon so that all social activities, economy, education, and health can run again.
Intermediate Policy Analyst of the Directorate of Social Protection for Social and Non-Natural Disaster Victims of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs Hijrah Manfaluty said reconciliation efforts must be carried out so that the problems that occur in Yalimo Regency can be resolved quickly.
"Preventive efforts must be carried out by local governments (Pemda), both provinces and districts, so that the problems that occur in Yalimo Regency will soon be resolved and community activities can return to normal," he said in Wamena, Tuesday, as reported by Antara.
According to him, problems like this should not be allowed to drag on because it has an impact on various sectors, especially the economy.
"We will also shift to Yalimo to bring logistical assistance and ready-to-eat food to refugees of approximately 500 people, according to the data received. We will also convey to the local government there to immediately resolve this issue," he said.

As a representative of the central government, in this case the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, his party expressed his gratitude to the security forces, both the TNI and Polri as well as the Nusantara Family Harmony who have helped facilitate and assist the refugees from day one until now.
"We as the central government express our gratitude for the support of the police, TNI, and family harmony, so that the refugees can get food and shelter facilities in Wamena," he said.
He added that the assistance distributed was 40 sack mattresses, two sacks of blankets, 10 sack kids ware, 18 boxes of children's food, five sacks of adult clothing, 29 boxes of ready-to-eat food, seven boxes of ready-to-eat side dishes and 100 packages of baby clothing.
"This assistance provided is a form of great support and attention from the state towards people who are directly affected by the riots in Yalimo Regency," he said.
He ensured that the distribution of aid from the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs was carried out in two refugee camps, namely Wamena in Jayawijaya and Elelim Regencies in Yalimo Regency.
"We distribute this assistance directly to refugees, in Wamena it was carried out yesterday, Monday, September 22, while in Elelim it will be held today or tomorrow (Tuesday-Wednesday 23-24 September) depending on the plane carrying aid from Jayapura to Wamena," he said.
