Floods Soak 17 Villages In West Aceh, Water Height Starts From 30 Centimeters-1.3 Meters
ACEH - Settlements in 17 villages in West Woyla and East Woyla Subdistricts, West Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, were inundated as high as 30 centimeters to 1.3 meters due to flooding.
"This flood occurred due to overflowing river water after heavy rains since the last two days," said Coordinator of The Operational Control Center of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Aceh Regency, Mashuri was quoted from Antara, Saturday, May 15 in Meulaboh.
According to BPBD data, floods cover napai village, Alue Leuhop, Blang Luah, Cot Rambong, Pasi Malee, Lhok Malee, Blang Cot Mameh, Lubok Pasi Ara, Peuleukung, Kulam Kaju, Cot Lagan LM, Blang Cot Rubek, and Ulee Pasi Ara in West Woyla District.
In addition, floods hit Alue Kuyun, Alue Seuralen, Rambong Pinto, and Blang Luah villages in East Woyla District.
Flooding caused people's homes, schools, and places of worship to be flooded in West Woyla and East Woyla subdistricts and forced some residents to evacuate to safety.
Mashuri said that by Saturday night the flooding had begun to recede and residents began to return home to clean up their homes.
"Bpbd Officers of West Aceh are still continuing to record the communities or areas affected by flooding," mashuri said.
