Germany Confirms Its Offering Position Admits Palestinian Countries Must Pass Solutions To 2 Countries

JAKARTA - Germany reiterated its bargaining position towards recognition of the Palestinian state until Israel and Palestine negotiate a two-state solution.

German Foreign Minister (Menlu) Johann Wadephul emphasized this when he left for the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York, USA.

Germany urged the recognition of the sovereign independent Palestinian state to be the result of the negotiation process to end the war between the two sides in Gaza.

"The negotiated solution of the two countries is a path that allows Israelis and Palestinians to live in peace, safe and dignified," he said Monday, September 22, quoted by AFP.

"For Germany, the recognition of the Palestinian state is more pronounced at the end of the process. But this process must begin now," he continued.

Given its historical responsibility for the Holocaust, Germany has made support for the State of Israel its foreign policy base.

However, the German government is increasingly critical of Israel's campaign to annex Gaza ending with many Palestinian civilians severely affected. Previously, the United Nations also stated that a hunger disaster had occurred in Gaza due to the Israeli military attack policy.

The German Foreign Minister's statement was made ahead of the UN general assembly, in which France is expected to become a new country that will recognize the Palestinian state, after Australia, Britain, Canada, and Portugal, which did so on Sunday, September 21.
