Government Adds Economic Stimulus: Oil Oil Assistance, DTP VAT, To Internship Programs
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto officially announced the expansion of the economic stimulus program titled 8+4+5, which was previously introduced at the State Palace on September 15, 2025.
After holding a limited coordination meeting with 12 ministers and institutional leaders, Airlangga said that a number of additional incentives would be implemented in October 2025.
One of these additions is the expansion of social assistance in the form of cooking oil for Oilita.
"So for food assistance, it is added in addition to 10 kg of rice for two months, plus 2 liters of Oilita," said Airlangga during a press conference, Monday, September 22.
In addition, the second additional stimulus includes the Government-Borrowed VAT (DTP) policy for aircraft tickets and other modes of transportation during the Christmas and New Year 2025/2026 periods, with incentives reaching 50 percent.
Incentives for VAT DTP will also be given for the property sector until 2026, specifically for new houses with a maximum price of IDR 5 billion.
"So the Rp2 billion is borne by the government and the rest is borne by buyers," he said.
Airlangga said that other programs still refer to the previous announcement at the State Palace. One of them is an internship program for university graduates who have graduated for a maximum of one year.
He said that participants would receive UMP equivalent pocket money for six months, with a target of 20,000 beneficiaries.
"For this reason, the company does not pay, the equivalent of the UMP is paid by the government," he said.
In addition, he also conveyed a 50 percent discount on JKK and JKM contributions for informal sector workers (PBPU) such as online motorcycle taxi drivers, drivers, couriers, and logistics workers will still be enforced and fully borne by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
"It is entirely from BPJS and the regulations are made easier for the benefits of additional services," he said.
The government has prepared a budget of IDR 16.23 trillion for the 8+4+5 economic stimulus package, consisting of 8 2025 economic acceleration programs, 4 programs continued to 2026, and 5 labor absorption programs.
