KUPANG – The East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police's Narcotics Investigation Directorate (Ditresnarkoba) has seized 55 jerry cans of illegal moke liquor in Kupang City and arrested a suspect who faces a maximum prison sentence of 15 years.

The Director of Narcotics Investigation at the NTT Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Ardiyanto Tedjo Baskoro, stated that the criminal penalty is based on Article 204 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code, which charges anyone selling or distributing dangerous goods without disclosing their dangerous nature.

"The perpetrator and the liquor were found last Sunday," Ardiyanto told reporters in Kupang, according to Antara, Monday, September 22.

He explained that the investigation revealed 55 30-liter jerry cans of moke packaged for distribution. The evidence, along with the truck driver, identified as D (25), are now being held for further investigation.

This case began with monitoring by the Sub-Directorate 1 team at the Narcotics Investigation Directorate at Bolok Port, Kupang Regency. Police became suspicious of an expedition truck from Larantuka and followed the vehicle to an unloading location in Kuanino Village, Kota Raja, Kupang.

"We urge the public "We urge everyone not to distribute or consume this dangerous alcohol. Public participation in reporting the circulation of illegal moke is crucial," said Henry.
