No Additional Stock, This Is A 3 Kg Gas Scarcity In Central Lombok

PRAYA Central Lombok Resort Police, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), conducted a surprise inspection of the Elpiji Bulk Filling and Transport Station (SPPBE) to trace the cause of the scarcity of 3 kilograms (kg) LPG gas cylinders that the public complained about.

"This check is to follow up on public complaints regarding the scarcity of LPG gas in the Central Lombok Regency area," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Lombok Police, Iptu Lukluk Il Maqnun in Praya, Antara, Monday, September 22.

The check is part of the police's efforts to ensure the availability and smooth distribution of basic necessities for the community.

"Based on the results of the checking carried out by members of the Tipidter Unit at SPPBE, it was found that the availability of stock at the agent level or SPPBE was normal and safe," he said.

However, the findings in the field show that scarcity occurs at the consumer level. In a number of retailers, 3 kg of LPG gas was not even found.

According to reports received, the main cause of the scarcity of 3 kg LPG gas was the cessation of additional stock supply from Pertamina to LPG bases.

"As a result of the elimination of these additional stocks, there was an imbalance between the high demand for people and the number of stocks available at the base. This is the main cause of scarcity," said Lukluk.

His party will continue to monitor and coordinate with various parties to find solutions so that the supply of 3 kg LPG gas is stable again and the community's needs are met.

"We urge the public to remain calm and not to make excessive purchases (panic buying) so that other people can be served," he said.

A number of residents in several areas of Central Lombok admitted that they had difficulty getting 3 kg LPG gas at the retailer and shop level. At the base, the newly arrived gas cylinders were immediately purchased by local residents so that distribution to retailers was hampered.

"The LPG gas that came immediately ran out that day. This is because the use has increased from residents celebrating the Birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW," said Awal, a resident of Central Lombok.
