Poland Deploys Planes After Russia Launches Attack On Ukraine
JAKARTA - Polish aircraft and allies were deployed on Saturday, September 20, 2025, morning local time to ensure the security of Polish airspace after Russia launched an airstrike targeting western Ukraine near the border with Poland.
The armed forces of NATO member countries revealed that air defenses and radar reconnaissance have been alerted.
"Polish planes and allies are operating in our airspace. Meanwhile, ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have been alerted in the highest alert conditions," the Polish Armed Forces Operations Command said in a post on X.

According to Reuters, almost the entire Ukrainian territory was under airstrikes following warnings by the Ukrainian Air Force about Russian missile and drone attacks.
Shortly after local time, the Polish Air Force and allies ended the operation after an airstrike by Russia against Ukraine was stopped.
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces added that the action was preventive and aimed at securing airspace in areas adjacent to threatened territory.
