Previously, the West Papua Police's Narcotics Directorate arrested two MS and AAPR, suspects in the production of adulterated liquor, fire wine, which used fake customs and excise labels.
The two suspects used five types of raw materials in producing adulterated liquor, namely pure ethanol or alcohol liquid, water iceball, wine ice, mineral water, and liquid sugar.
The combination of the five raw materials is then mixed into one and packaged into a clear glass bottle that has been pasted with a branded alcohol sticker to give the impression as if the product was genuine.
"Bottles that have been filled with mixed alcohol are labeled mock excise before being sold to a number of kiosks in Manokwari," said Head of Public Relations of the West Papua Police, Kombes Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo.
The profits obtained by the two suspects from the sale practice of two types of fake branded alcohol, namely perhatian and wine during the six months of operation, starting from March-August 2025 to reach Rp480 million.
"The two suspects ordered branded alcohol bottles, bottle caps, branded stickers, and fake excise duty from Java Island," he said.
