People Don't Believe Pertamina's BBM Imbas Oplosan, Bahlil Asks Pertamina To Upgrade

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia asked the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Simon Aloysius Mantiri to improve the services of this red opelat fuel operator.

This is the loss of public trust in Pertamina after the issue of mixed fuel at the beginning of last year.

"I have asked Mr. Simon (Managing Director of Pertamina), to improve his services, improve the quality of his services, and improve the quality of his services," Bahlil told the media crew at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Friday, September 19.

Bahlil said this was intended so that Pertamina could compete with private gas station operators such as Shell, Vivo and BP AKR, which recently experienced an increase in the number of customers.

Bahlil admitted that actually Pertamina needs to improve the service system to customers.

Moreover, he said, Pertamina is a state-owned enterprise that is an extension of the state's hand.

"We have to upgrade the service method properly. Pertamina is a state-owned company. She is an extension of the country," Bahlil explained.

Furthermore, Bahlil said, both PT Pertamina (Persero) and the private sector had agreed on a scheme to regulate imports of fuel oil (BBM).

This is done in order to maintain the balance of the trade balance as well as to regulate the fulfillment of fuel needs for the community.

Regarding the quality of fuel, it has also been approved to conduct a joint survey before sending fuel.

Regarding the purchase price of fuel, the Government requested that it be carried out transparently and no party was harmed.

Bahlil also encouraged that in the next seven days, the imported fuel would arrive in Indonesia and be ready to be distributed to the public.

"If you are asked when this will start, starting today it has been discussed. After this, it will be followed by a technical meeting of the stock. And then God willing, at no later than 7 days the goods will be able to enter Indonesia," he explained.
