MotoGP Japan 2025: Marc Marquez Pursues 100th Victory
JAKARTA Marc Marquez will win his 100th career victory if he manages to cross the finish line for the first time in the 2025 Japanese MotoGP race by the end of this month.
Japan's 2025 MotoGP race at the Twin Ring Motegi Circuit is scheduled to take place on 26-28 September 2025. This is the 17th series in this season's racing calendar.
Marquez came there with a record of having bagged 99 wins in motorcycle racing world championships in all categories. He got his latest win at the 2025 San Marino MotoGP, Italy, last weekend.
If successful in coming out as champions on weekends at the Twin Ring Motegi, the Spaniard will become the third rider in history to achieve 100 wins.

He is behind Valentino Rossi with 115 wins and Giacomo Agostini who has 122 wins. Marquez is now past the Spanish legend, Angel Nieto, who has a collection of 90 wins.
Agostini, who has collected 15 world titles throughout her career, showed absolute dominance from 1968 to 1970s, with her last win won in 1976 in Germany with MV Agusta in the 500cc class.
Meanwhile, Valentino Rossi first took the podium at the 1996 Czech Republic Grand Prix in the 125cc class. He then won his last victory in 2017 at the Dutch MotoGP.
Marquez's dominance so far this season makes it look easy for him to make history in Japan. In addition, there is a possibility that he will also lock up the world title there.
Currently, the racer nicknamed Baby Alien is top of the standings with a collection of 512 points. He is 182 points ahead of his younger brother Alex Marquez who fills second place.
Racing in Japan is a match point for Marquez. He had not been able to lock the title even when the Sprint Race won, but the main race could be the key for him.
In the scenario, he only needs to add to the difference in points with his younger brother to 185, so the seventh MotoGP world title in his career journey will be obtained.
To be able to lock the title, Marquez only needs to win in the Sprint Race race on Saturday, September 27, 2025, and must finish better than his younger brother in the main race the next day.
