Menbud Fadli Zon Encourages Films To Become A Medium For Historical Education, Invites Young Generations To Raise The Story Of Proclamation
JAKARTA - There are many stories about the proclamation that can be brought to the film "heroes of heroes, kingdoms, to historical events," said Culture Minister Fadli Zon when receiving an audience at the Indonesian Heritage Institute (YLKHI) at his office, Jakarta, Thursday, September 18.
Menbud Fadli emphasized the importance of reviving the narrative of proclamation through the medium of film so that it is easier for the younger generation to understand history. He also encourages the birth of human resources who are proficient in writing scenarios. There must be a subject for writing scenarios, there must be many enthusiasts," he said.
The audience was attended by the Dean of the FIB University of Indonesia Bondan Kanumoyoso and the Chairman of YLKHI Teddy Ichsan Arifin. YLKHI initiated the Proclamation House Film Script Competition to ignite the spirit of proclamation through short films. According to Bondan, visual attraction will make the historical message convey more emotionally. We want to encourage young people to express ideas. We accommodate, facilitate, and train," he said.
Teddy detailed the four goals of the competition: developing talent for screenwriting, improving the quality of historical-themed scripts, involving the community in historical preservation, and encouraging collaboration between writers, coaches, and the film community.

Menbud Fadli added, this program is in line with the Indonesian Fund prepared by the government to support an inclusive and sustainable cultural ecosystem. "Make sure this activity is registered so that it can be followed up," he said.
Menbud also highlighted the role of museum educators as an important bridge between past knowledge and the present generation. They, said Menbud Fadli, must be fluent in foreign languages and be able to turn historical sequences into captivating stories.
The collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and academics is expected to keep the nation's history alive. Through films, the values of the proclamation are not only remembered, but also strengthen the identity and creativity of the younger generation of Indonesia.
