KSP Will Review One Stop Fuel Import Scheme Through Pertamina

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Muhammad Qodari stated that his party would review the one-door import of fuel oil (BBM) scheme through Pertamina which has recently become a public spotlight.

"Please time, because this is still a transition and this is also a relatively new issue in the media. We want to review so that later the results can be input, if necessary, a comparison," said Qodari at the Bina Graha Building, Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, September 18.

Qodari assessed that every policy was born out of good intentions. However, because imports of fuel are related to complex social problems and involve many parties, unwanted implications often arise.

According to him, this condition can be likened to blind spots or blind spots in driving.

"Hopefully we can build a mechanism so that the blind spot can be identified from the start so as not to cause pros and cons, controversies, or losses in the future," said Qodari.

The shortage of fuel has been going on since August 2025 at a number of private gas stations managed by Shell and BP. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) stated that the manager of private gas stations did not get an additional fuel import quota.

To meet the fuel needs, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia advised the manager of private gas stations to buy from Pertamina. Private gas station managers are asked to collect volume data and fuel specifications for each of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to process before being submitted to Pertamina.

This data is the basis for Pertamina to procure. If Pertamina can meet the needs of private gas stations without additional imports, then fuel imports do not need to be carried out. However, if imports are needed, then Pertamina will be the sole party to import a scheme known as importing one-stop fuel.
