KPK Irit Talks About The News Of Immanuel Ebenezer Proposing To Be A Justice Collaborator For Security
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the application for justice collaborators would not be submitted openly. Maintaining security is the main reason.
This was conveyed by the KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo when asked about the news of the former Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer who intends to apply as a justice collaborator.
Justice collaborators are criminals who cooperate with law enforcers to help reveal a criminal act by providing significant information or information.
"We also have to maintain someone's confidentiality when we become JC," Budi told reporters quoted on Thursday, September 18.
Budi said justice collaborators will usually open up the role of other parties. "Therefore, security, safety from those who become JC is certainly important for us to maintain confidentiality of their identity," he said.
Even so, Budi said there had been no official letter from Immanuel Ebenezer regarding his wish. "We have not received this information," he said.
Meanwhile, Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu said he had heard the informal desire of Immanuel Ebenezer. "But the official letter is not yet there," said Asep when confirmed via text message, Wednesday, September 17.
Meanwhile, Immanuel Ebenezer stated that he would cooperate in undergoing the ongoing legal process. This statement was made after undergoing examination as a suspect some time ago.
"We are very cooperative with investigators. Because we also support what the KPK is doing and I also admit that it is wrong," Immanuel told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, September 2.
"And they (investigators, ed) respect my gentle attitude admitting my mistake. So this is regret in my life," he continued.
Previously reported, the KPK named 11 suspects in connection with the alleged extortion of handling work safety and health certificates (K3). This determination began with a hand arrest operation (OTT) that arrested 14 people, including the Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer.
In this case, Immanuel Ebenezer is said to have received IDR 3 billion in December 2024 and was used to renovate his house. Then, he also got one Ducati motorbike.
This gift is said to have come from Irvian, who was called Immanuel as the sultan because he was considered the richest person in the Ministry of Manpower.
In addition, Immanuel Ebenezer, also called the KPK, has acknowledged that there have been receipts during his tenure apart from the extortion of K3 certification from the Ministry of Manpower. This statement was made by the KPK after finding three other cars, namely Mercedes Benz, Land Cruiser, and BAIC which had been hidden from their official residence after OTT.
The car has now been confiscated by the anti-corruption commission after Immanuel Ebenezer, who is suspected of hiding, made a return. However, the KPK is still closing down those who hide and deliver the car.
