Held A Cheap Market, Police Distribute 50 Tons Of Rice

JAKARTA - The National Police held the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) as a concrete step to support the government's program in maintaining food price stability and easing the burden on the community.

In the activities that took place in the two locations, 50 tons of SPHP rice, 5,000 liters of cooking oil, and 5 tons of sugar were provided.

"This movement is a government program as a tangible form to provide benefits to the entire community," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko in his statement, Wednesday, September 17.

This cheap market activity is held simultaneously and sustainably in several locations, including at the East Jakarta Police, so that the distribution is wider.

In addition, in this GPM activity, the prices offered are certainly cheaper. So, the community will not be burdened.

"The prices we have set are very affordable, namely rice for Rp. 11,000 per kilogram, cooking oil for Rp. 20,000 per liter, and sugar for Rp. 10,000 per kilogram," he said.

Trunoyudo explained the purchasing mechanism that had been prepared so that the community could be served efficiently without having to wait long.

"People buy coupons first, then exchange them for food packages that have been provided in special tents. We also arrange exits so that long queues do not occur," said Trunoyudo.
