Billy Syahputra Reveals Reasons Vika's Family Did Not Attend The Gender Reveal Event

JAKARTA - In the midst of the happiness of the reveal gender event of Billy Syahputra and Vika, the absence of Vika's family from Belarus is a question.

Billy also explained the strong reason why his father-in-law was unable to fly to Indonesia to attend this important moment, including at their wedding.

According to Billy, the main obstacle lies in Vika's mother who is afraid to fly and tied to important jobs in her country.

"The problem is her mother. Her mother is very afraid to get on a plane and also have a lot to leave," said Billy Syahputra in the Jakarta area, Sunday, September 14.

"Because of Vika's mother, you could say, teachers or financial people at school, that's it, you know. Anyway, the work of the country, like that, cannot be abandoned," explained Billy Syahputra.

Even though they were unable to attend physically, Vika's family was still involved through video calls (Zoom). "I don't want to have to zoom, because, right, both parties have to involve, that's it," he added.

Instead, Billy promised to immediately bring his wife and children to Belarus after giving birth to fulfill his grandmother's request.

"He also warned that if, for example, his son had left, he immediately rushed to Belarus, because, yes, especially his grandmother Vika. So, Vika's grandmother once said, 'If the two of you come here, you have to bring grandchildren, yes', that's it," concluded Billy.

When asked about his wife's citizenship status, Billy Syahputra admitted that he could not confirm whether Vika would become an Indonesian citizen (WNI) or not.

Billy left the decision entirely to Vika without any coercion.

"I can't talk, yes. I don't know, yes. If he wants to become an Indonesian citizen or not, I don't understand," said Billy.

"For Indonesian citizens, I don't know, yes. Later it must be said slowly. But, right, come back again, if I never force it, that's it, you know. If for example he wants to, yes, go ahead. If not, yes, that's it, what about it," he continued.

Even so, Billy realized that there were administrative consequences if Vika remained a foreign citizen while living in Indonesia. He explained that the licensing process will continue to be needed so that Vika can stay and work legally.

"We still stay here and be my wife, right, like it or not, we have to continue with permission. Moreover, right, he has to work, yes, work permits, we have to stay permits, our family permits, and so on. That's all," he concluded.
