Shanghai Route Buenos Aires Breaks World's Longest Flight Record

JAKARTA - A world record-breaking flight will soon arrive this winter. China Eastern Airlines is preparing to launch the world's longest direct flight. Flight from Shanghai, China to Buenos Aires, Argentina with a break in Auckland, New Zealand.

Reporting from the Mirror page, this route will travel an extraordinary distance, which is 12,200 miles with a duration of almost 29 hours for a return trip and about 26 hours for departure.

Even though there is a stopover in Auckland, this flight is still considered a direct flight because passengers do not need to change planes and still sit in the same seat.

Previously, long-distance air travel was synonymous with routes such as Singapore' New York which were taken in 16 hours non-stop by Singapore Airlines. But Shanghai Buenos Aires will surpass all previous records.

China Eastern Airlines will use a wide-distance aircraft estimated to be Boeing 777-300ER. This aircraft is designed for cross-continental flights with long travel times.

The airline confirmed that tickets had already been sold on the inaugural flight scheduled for December 4. The schedule is two times a week, namely Monday and Thursday from Shanghai, as well as Tuesday and Friday from Buenos Aires.

For the price, one-way tickets are estimated to range from 1,280 Euros or Rp24 million for the Shanghai 'Buenos Aires route. The ticket price for Buenos Aires-Shanghai's return is 1,400 Euros or almost Rp27 million.

Airlines provide First, Business, and Economy classes, with facilities according to international long-distance flight standards.

Observers assess that this new flight is not only a matter of record, but can also be a step of diplomacy and trade. This route has the potential to strengthen relations between China and South America, as well as open up new routes that do not have to cross Europe or North America.

In addition, this route is also considered safer because it avoids conflict zones that are still active in several parts of the world.

On the other hand, a travel expert Andrea Platania from Transfeero shared a simple trick to save on holiday ticket fees.

"Many travel agents dare to promise a cheaper price than those found online. If you show screenshots of ticket prices even though when ordered the price has changed, usually they still respect and give the same price," he explained.

"I've tried this trick many times while traveling to various countries and managed to save hundreds of pounds. Small steps, but the results can be huge." he continued.
