Muhammadiyah Officially Operates Bank BPR Syariah Matahari

JAKARTA - The financial institution owned by Muhammadiyah, BPR Syariah Matahari was officially launched on Thursday 11 September after obtaining permission from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) dated 18 June 2025 (No. KEP-39/D.03/2025).

Quoted from the upload of the official Instagram account of the BPR Matahari, @bank_bsm, management said that this presence is expected to be a strategic partner for MSMEs and Muhammadiyah Business Amal (AUM).

"Alhamdulillah, on Thursday, September 11, 2025, it will be a historic day for the Sharia Matahari BPR which officially started its steps as a sharia financial institution," the account wrote, quoted Monday, September 15.

Management also welcomes this launch affirming Muhammadiyah's commitment to provide access to trustworthy, professional, and competitive Islamic financial solutions. On the other hand, the presence of Bank Syariah Matahari can also support the economic growth of the people through modern services that are in line with Islamic values.

"This bank is the main choice and pride of the community, especially in strengthening the Berkahan-based business ecosystem," wrote the account.

Manajemen mengaku percaya jika sejatinya pemberdayaan ekonomi berbasis nilai-nilai Islam bukan hanya tentang angka, tetapi tentang keadilan, keberkahan, dan tanggung jawab sosial.
