KKP Reveals 65 Locations Of The First Phase Of The Red And White Fishing Village, Here's The List
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has begun to realize the construction of the first 65 Red and White Fishing Villages (KNMP) in 2025.
The determination of the location as stated in the Decree of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Number 55 of 2025 is targeted for completion in December 2025, with a working period of around 3.5 months.
Expert Staff to the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries for Economic, Social and Cultural Affairs as well as Head of the Red and White Fishing Village Development Team Trian Yunanda said the project was an important milestone in strengthening the economy of coastal communities.
"65 locations have been set for the first phase out of 100 locations, God willing, we will build it in approximately 3.5 months starting today. Hopefully later as of December 2, 2025, (as many as) 65 locations have been completed complete production infrastructure," Trian said at a press conference in Jakarta, Monday, September 15.
For the first 65 KNMP locations, they are spread from Aceh to Papua. Overall, the target for the construction of 100 KNMP is expected to be realized in March 2026.
Furthermore, the KKP has prepared a long-term plan by adding 250 KNMP in 2026 through the allocation of the APBN indicative ceiling.
The first 65 development sites are spread across 23 provinces. The western region of Indonesia is listed as the largest contributor, starting from Aceh with Lhok Pawoh and Kuala Raja, West Java with Wanasari and Gebang Mekar, to Central Java with Kertojayan and Jatimalang.
Not only that, but the eastern Indonesia region is also the focus. In West Nusa Tenggara there are Bungin Island and Ekas Buana, in East Nusa Tenggara there are Mudakputtu and Sulamu. Meanwhile, in Southwest Papua and South Papua, Warmasen and Samkai were designated as the sites for the construction of KNMP.
It does not stop in the first stage, KKP is also proposing additional budgeting for the construction of 35 other locations that are included in the second stage. With the Additional Fee Budget (ABT) scheme, the construction of this stage is expected to begin at the end of October 2025.
"We hope that this can be carried out until March 2026 and this year we will also carry out a location survey (KNMP) for 2026, later we will also cooperate with colleagues from KNTI (Indonesian Traditional Fishermen Unit)," he concluded.
