Minister Of Industry Agus: TKDN Logo Included In Products Not Obligations

Business actors are not required to include the sign or logo of the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) on the products produced. According to the Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, it is optional, aka not mandatory.

Freedom of inclusion of the TKDN logo is regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Industry (Permenperin) Number 35 of 2025 concerning Provisions and Procedures for TKDN Certification and Company Benefit Bobot.

"Business actors who already have a TKDN Certificate or TKDN Certificate can indeed place a TKDN sign on their product. However, this is not an obligation. We leave this logo inclusion entirely to the industry as a form of flexibility," Agus said in a written statement, quoted Monday, September 15.

Agus assessed that the inclusion of the TKDN logo is not required to maintain efficiency and give flexibility to industry players. Given, there are companies that prefer to highlight the main branding of their products without additional logos, while there are also those who use the TKDN logo as a selling value for consumers.

"Essentially, we provide space for the industry to determine their marketing strategy. For those who want to show pride using domestic components, the TKDN logo can be combined. But what is not, it remains valid because the TKDN value of the product has been recorded in the official certificate of the Ministry of Industry," he said.

Even though the logo is optional, Agus said, the TKDN value must still be included transparently in the TKDN Certificate or TKDN Certificate. This value will also be included in the domestically produced inventory list on the official website of the Ministry of Industry.

"In this way, the government, business actors and the public can clearly know how much local content of a product is. So the openness of the data is maintained, even though the physical logo on the product is not always listed," said Agus.

The presence of the TKDN logo is expected to be one of the public educational facilities on the importance of supporting domestic products. However, the government does not want to burden the industry with rigid rules.

"This flexibility is a form of our support for the business climate. Most importantly, TKDN certification runs transparently, crediblely and accountably," concluded Agus.

The following are the provisions for the recurrence of the TKDN sign (based on Attachment VI of Permenperin 35/2025):

- In accordance with Government Regulation No. 29 of 2018 article 71, industrial companies as goods producers include the amount of the TKDN value of goods that have been confirmed on product labels.

- The TKDN sign functions to make it easier for users of domestic products to identify products that will be used, without having to see the TKDN certificate directly.

- TKDN signs can be included in product labels, including packaging of goods.
