Director Adaro Examined By AGO In Alleged Crude Oil Corruption

JAKARTA - Jampidsus investigators at the Attorney General's Office examined 10 witnesses in the case of alleged corruption in crude oil governance and refinery products at PT Pertamina (Persero), Subholding, and Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) in 2018 2023. One of the witnesses examined was ME as Director of PT Adaro.

"Examining 10 witnesses ... with the initials: ME as Director of PT Adaro," said the Head of the AGO, Anang Supriatna, in a written statement to reporters, Saturday, September 13.

Apart from ME, other witnesses examined were: EM as the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) in 2017 2018; AF as the Acting Manager. Manager of Crude Oil Supply PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional in 2021 2024; DB as Operations Director of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional 2022 now; TA as President Director of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional 2022 now.

Then witness HBS as VP Business Planning & Portfolio in 20202021;UR as Director of Risk Management of PT Pertamina International Shipping; SS as Manager of Crude Trading PT Pertamina (Persero) in 2017 2020; and AB as Junior Officer of Product Overseas Chartering PT Pertamina International Shipping.

A total of 10 witnesses were examined to complete the case file for the suspect Hasto Wibowo (HW) cs, as VP of Integrated Supply Chain 2019-2020.

"On behalf of the suspect HW et al. The witness examination was carried out to strengthen the evidence and complete the filing in the case," said Anang.

Previously, the AGO's efforts to uncover cases of alleged crude oil corruption that dragged entrepreneurs and old Pertamina management into the new round. Adaro Indonesia officials belonging to Boy Thohir were also questioned by the AGO on Monday (4/8/2025).

The examination of the Finance Director of PT Adaro Minerals Indonesia, Heri Gunawan (HG), is the second time after he was examined in May.

"HG as Director of PT Adaro Indonesia. Witness examination is carried out to strengthen the evidence and complete the filing in the case," said Anang Supriatna in his official statement, Thursday (7/8/2025).

Based on information at the AGO, the examination of people close to Boy Thohir was related to the purchase contract for diesel fuel between Adaro and Pertamina since 2018. At that time, the position of President Director of Pertamina was still held by Nicke Widyawati, who had just stepped down on November 4, 2024.

Every year, Adaro gets a diesel share of 500-600 kiloliters which is used for the transportation and operation of Boy Thohir's coal mine.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) website noted that the diesel purchase contract between Adaro and Pertamina was signed in May 2015 with a validity period of 10 years. The annual procurement value reaches IDR 7 trillion.
