Ministry Of Finance Continues Budget Efficiency In 2026, Focuses On Pressing Bureaucratic Expenditures

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) will still carry out internal budget efficiency in 2026. One of the main focuses is suppressing bureaucratic spending.

"In 2026, in the 2026 budget work plan, we will continue to policy on budget efficiency and expand budget efficiency strategies, including in the context of implementing activity collaboration, then expanding the implementation of fee standardization, controlling bureaucratic spending costs, as well as expanding services offices with the Ministry of Finance throughout Indonesia," said Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara to reporters, Thursday, September 11.

Suahasil added, the Ministry of Finance continues to strive to ensure that each budget is utilized optimally and thanks to this efficiency step, the Ministry of Finance managed to save around IDR 3.53 trillion during the 2020 to 2025 period.

"The policies of the Ministry of Finance's resources that we continue to manage efficiently. If we do benchmarking since 2020, we have been able to reduce a number of unnecessary budgets and we can estimate the total efficiency in 2020-2025 is IDR 3.53 trillion," he said.

Dari sisi kepegawaian, Suahasil mengungkapkan bahwa terjadi penurunan jumlah pegawai dari 82.468 orang pada tahun 2019 menjadi 77.412 orang saat ini dan proses rekrutmen pegawai baru pun akan dilakukan secara ketat, dengan fokus pada peningkatan kompetensi.

"Tahun 2019 pegawai Kementerian Keuangan itu 82.468 pegawai, sekarang 77.412. Kebijakan-kebijakan SDM kita termasuk memenuhi pegawai baru secara selektif, komposisi kita perhatikan terus, kompetensi kita terus tingkatkan, budaya pegawai, well-being dan manajemen, serta pembangunan digital workplace untuk pegawai kita bisa menjadi lebih kompeten dan bekerja secara digital," tandasnya.

In terms of employment, Suahasil revealed that there was a decrease in the number of employees from 82,468 people in 2019 to 77,412 people at this time and the recruitment process for new employees would be carried out strictly, focusing on increasing competence.

"In 2019, employees of the Ministry of Finance were 82,468 employees, now 77,412. Our HR policies include meeting new employees selectively, we continue to pay attention to our composition, our competence continues to improve, employee culture, well-being and management, as well as digital workplace development for our employees can become more competent and work digitally," he said.
