Nikita Mirzani Annoyed When He Found Out That The Expert Witness Did Not Read The BAP In Full

JAKARTA - The trial of cases of alleged threats and money laundering (TPPU) that dragged Nikita Mirzani's name was again held by presenting expert witnesses from the Public Prosecutor (JPU).

The first witness, Muhammad Novian, who is a TPPU expert witness, said that there were indications of money laundering after reading the chronology from investigators.

"From the chronology that you listen to from investigators, do you think in this case according to experts, in this case is there any use in the role, yes, to disguise so that there is a crime of money laundering or not?" said the presiding panel of judges asking Muhammad Novian, a TPPU expert witness at the trial of Nikita Mirzani, Thursday, September 11.

"I see there is, Your Majesty," replied witness Novian.

Hearing this, Muhammad Novian's testimony was immediately denied by Nikita Mirzani. He felt that the expert witness did not see the BAP as a whole.

Furthermore, Nikita asked about Novian's voice recording when Reza Gladys asked Ismail Marzuki alias Mail Syahputra for help to meet him.

Unexpectedly, Novian stated that he was not played by the investigator's voice recording. "No," said Novian.

This Novian's answer made Nikita Mirzani's emotions increase because he felt that expert witnesses did not read the whole incident of this case.

"Yes, the question is, Your Honor. The expert witness from the beginning until the PPATK expert witness did not read the BAP in detail, Your Honor. He was only given a piece of what we put into the money laundering offense, article amount, so much," said Nikita.

In fact, for Nikita, the voice recordings of Reza Gladys and Mail Syahputra are important evidence in this trial.

'Expert witness, your accountability is extraordinary. This is here. Ask for help. Are expert witnesses seen? This is a fact. This is not a fabrication. This is a fact from the Regional Police," said Nikita.

Then, m Nikita again questioned the basis for the money laundering offense that was imposed on him in this case

"Yes, that's the question, Your Honor. So, what is the original crime if from the start here there was a request for help. Please. Can it be included in the money laundering article then? " said Nikita while showing the BAP letter to the witness.

Novian also answered briefly that he did not know about what was asked by Nikita Mirzani.

"I don't know, Your Majesty," said the witness.

For information, Nikita Mirzani and his assistant, Ismail Marzuki, were charged with alleged extortion of dr. Reza Gladys, owner of Glafidsya products. Prosecutors said Nikita threatened Reza through social media and asked for Rp 5 billion in order to stop making negative content.

Even though he had agreed to IDR 4 billion, Reza still reported the case to the Polda Metro Jaya. Nikita is now charged with Article 27B paragraph (2) of the ITE Law, Article 369 of the Criminal Code concerning extortion, as well as Article 3, 4, and 5 of the Money Laundering Law.
