TNBTS Investigate Paragliding In The Bromo Semeru Area

The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Center (TNBTS) conducted an investigation into paragliding flight activities allegedly carried out at one of the points inside the national park area.

"We are currently gathering the information," said Head of Administration of the TNBTS Center, Septi Eka Wardhani, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, September 11.

He also asked people who know various information regarding paragliding flights as in the video recording uploaded by the Instagram social media account, to immediately convey it to the TNBTS Center.

The TNBTS Center regrets this activity, because paragliding is prohibited from being flown in the national park area.

"We don't allow it, especially since the Bromo area is a sacred area for the Tengger community," he said.

Paragliding flight activity at Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park appeared through a video recording uploaded by one of the accounts on Instagram social media.

In the 25-second video, the paragliding with the main orange parachute is flown by a paraglider wearing white clothes and helmets.

Theglider flew its paragliding towards Mount Bathok, which is located right next to Mount Bromo in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area.

Paragliding activity immediately attracted interest from a number of people who were near paragliders in white clothes. Some of them seemed to capture the moment through their respective cell phones.

In the video, there is also a question "Two million free flights, if you fly yourself like this, how much will you pay?".

The upload was also accompanied by a caption which also questioned the clarity of the rules regarding paragliding activities there. "How about that," said Caption in the video.
