Ten Months Of Prabowo's Government, Minister Of Finance Purbaya Claims Implementation Of Positive Fiscal Policy

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadive assessed that in the first 10 months of President Prabowo Subianto's administration, national economic performance and implementation of fiscal policy showed positive developments.

However, he admits that there are still a number of challenges that must be addressed.

"Alhamdulillah, in 10 months of Mr. Prabowo's administration, our economic performance and implementation of fiscal policies have gone well, although there is still a lot of homework that needs to be improved," said Purbaya in a working meeting with Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Wednesday, September 10.

He added, amidst global economic uncertainty, Indonesia has succeeded in maintaining economic stability while improving people's welfare.

According to Purbaya, a number of priority programs of the Prabowo government have begun to have a real impact on the community, as reflected in economic growth in the second quarter of 2025 which reached 5.12 percent on an annual basis (year-on-year).

"Private programs include MBG, People's Schools, school revitalization, free health checks, have provided real benefits for the community," he said.

Menghadapi tantangan ke depan, Purbaya menyampaikan strategi ekonomi dan kebijakan fiskal untuk tahun 2026 akan difokuskan pada penguatan kedaulatan pangan, energi, dan ekonomi, guna mewujudkan Indonesia yang tangguh dan mandiri.

"Sejalan dengan hal tersebut, RAPBN 2026 difokuskan untuk mendukung 8 agenda prioritas yang meliputi ketahanan pangan; ketahanan energi; MBG; pendidikan bermutu; kesehatan berkualitas; pembangunan desa, koperasi dan UMKM; penguatan pertahanan semesta; serta akselerasi investasi dan perdagangan global," jelasnya.

Facing future challenges, Purbaya conveyed that the economic strategy and fiscal policy for 2026 will focus on strengthening food, energy and economic sovereignty, in order to create a strong and independent Indonesia.

"In line with this, the 2026 RAPBN is focused on supporting 8 priority agendas that include food security; energy security; MBG; quality education; quality health; village development, cooperatives and MSMEs; strengthening the universal defense; as well as accelerating investment and global trade," he explained.
