BNPB: Bali Has Disaster Emergency Response Status For A Week
DENPASAR - Head of BNPB Lt. Gen. Suharyanto stated that Bali is currently in a disaster emergency response status due to floods that hit almost all areas, especially Denpasar, Jembrana, Badung, and Gianyar.
"The governor has signed tonight, we discussed earlier that the disaster emergency response would be set for two weeks but because the nature of the disaster is not too big, it will be limited to one week," said Suharyanti, Wednesday, September 10.
The head of BNPB asked the public not to panic about this status because the disaster emergency response was carried out for administrative needs so that his party could be more optimal in helping the Bali Provincial Government.
"If you set an emergency status as if you can't afford it, this emergency has nothing to do with the ability to handle a leader, because related to disasters no single leader can handle it alone, this emergency is so that we collaborate, the central government can also provide assistance," he said.
After the determination of the disaster emergency response status tonight, the government can immediately take steps to improve, rehabilitate, and reconstruct post-disaster reconstruction.
BNPB in the early stages came to bring logistical assistance worth Rp1,015,196,000 consisting of one rubber boat and engine, 300 food packages, 200 blankets, 200 mattresses, three pump units of 2HP alkon, two units of refugee tents, and 50 units of family tents.
"In the initial stage, if you spend more than IDR 1 billion plus generators, pumps, around IDR 5 billion, it will develop, tomorrow to the refugee station, maybe you need more clothes, underwear, basically all the needs of the affected community. we will complete it," said Suharyanto.
After conducting a coordination and self-monitoring meeting, the Head of BNPB found that the floods in Bali were caused by high rainfall due to the rossby equatorial waves.
