Gal Gadot's Statement On Palestine Denounced By Netizens

JAKARTA - Actress Gal Gadot has spoken out about the incident in Palestine, but this statement has received a negative reaction from netizens.

On Wednesday, May 12, the Wonder Woman cast released statements on Twitter and Instagram about Israel and Palestine.

"My heart is broken. My country is at war. I worry about my family, my friends. I'm worried for my people. It's a vicious circle that's been going on for quite a while", she said in the upload.

"Israel has the right to live as a free and secure nation. Our neighbors deserve the same".

The statement elicited a variety of negative responses from netizens. Because, instead of mentioning Palestine, Gal Gadot chose to say "neighbor".

In addition, considering Gal Gadot was born in Israel, netizens talked about the time when Gadot was a Defense Forces of Israel from 2005 to 2007.

Because of this, not a few asked Warner Bros and DC Comics to replace her role in the film Wonder Woman 3.

In 2017, the Lebanese Ministry of Economy banned the release of Wonder Woman due to Gal Gadot's involvement with the Israeli state war.

But in the meantime, Gal Gadot and Warner Bros have yet to respond to the issue.
