Police Identify 10 Hoax Spreader Accounts Invited To Disable Soekarno-Hatta Airport

TANGERANG - Soekarno-Hatta Airport City Police (Soetta) managed to identify 10 anonymous social media accounts suspected of spreading fake news or hoaxes containing provocations to paralyze the vital object area of the largest airport in Indonesia.

Head of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police, Kombes Sipayung, said the findings were obtained after the cyber team conducted a post-protester patrol in Jakarta some time ago.

"Yesterday we did a cyber patrol and were able to identify more than 10 anonymous accounts," said Ronald in Tangerang, Antara, Wednesday, September 10.

He explained, from the search results, there were social media accounts that were proven to belong to individuals and their owners had been summoned for clarification.

"After we searched, they have clarified and apologized," he said.

However, there are also other accounts that are still being investigated by Bareskrim Polri investigators. The account allegedly provoked the crowd to deploy action to Soetta Airport with the aim of crippling activity in the national vital object.

"So that Bareskrim has taken legal action against the provoking account," said Ronald.

For prevention, the Soetta Airport Police have tightened security at all vital points of the airport. Cyber patrols were also carried out before the riots in Jakarta some time ago.

In addition, security involves joint patrols with the TNI and related agencies, plus the support of 100 Brimob personnel.

"At that time, security was carried out in the form of isolation so that we could prevent activities suspected of occupying or entering the airport," said Ronald.

He emphasized that until now the security conditions at Soekarno-Hatta Airport are conducive and under control. No crowds try to enter or be influenced by irresponsible invitations.

"We thank netizens. When many accounts provoke, many netizens also convey the appeal that occupying Soekarno-Hatta Airport is a violation of the law," said Ronald.
