Propam Detains 2 Members Of Dekai Police Related To The Incident Of The Death Of A Resident
Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Cahyo Sukarnito, said the Papua Police Propam detained two members of the Dekai Police regarding the death of Viktor Deal in Dekai, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains.
The two members detained at the Papua Police Headquarters in Jayapura are Dekai Police Chief Ipda AS and First Brigadier EM.
"The two personnel are still being investigated by Propam investigators," said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Cahyo Sukarnito, who was accompanied by the Head of Propam, Kombes Rudi Asriman, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 9.
The detention of the two members of the National Police who served in Dekai was carried out after the team led by the Head of Propam Kombes Rudi Asriman conducted an investigation.
From the results of the investigation, it was revealed that victim Viktor Deal, Wednesday (3/9) came to the Dekai Police Station in a drunken state due to consuming alcoholic beverages with stones.
Initially, members tried to get the victim out but were resisted so that the police took action.
"It is possible that the actions taken were excessive, causing the victim to die," said Kombes Cahyo.

"Briptu EM is suspected of committing excessive actions that resulted in the death of the victim," said Head of Propam Kombes Rudi Asriman.
