Si Jago Merah Lalap 20 Hectare Lahan Peat Di Muara Enim Sumsel

JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) revealed that a fire hit 20 hectares of land in Karang Mulya Village, Lubai Ulu District, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra (Sumsel).

"The forest and land fires that occurred on Monday (September) at around 11.30 WIB scorched the peatland in Karang Mulya Village covering an area of 20 hectares," said Head of BPBD Muara Enim, Abdurruzieq Putra, in Muara Enim, Tuesday, confiscated by Antara.

He said the forest and land fires scorched the peatlands belonging to PTPN 1 Regional 7 Muara Enim to 20 hectares.

"The cause of the fire is not yet known," he said.

Receiving a report from the community, his party deployed BPBD Gelumbang Command Post personnel in coordination with the village government assisted by Babinsa Koramil 404-08 Lubai Ulu to extinguish the fire.

The equipment deployed in the extinguishing includes six fire engines considering that the location of the forest and land fires is difficult to reach four-wheeled vehicles and a jet shoter unit.

In fact, his party was assisted by personnel from the South Sumatra BPBD who used water bomber helicopters to extinguish forest and land fires in the area.

South Sumatra BPBD personnel carried out 15 water bombings using helicopters until the fire was completely extinguished.

"Until last night the condition of forest and land fires in Karang Mulya Village, Lubai Ulu District was completely extinguished," he said.
