NORTH LOMBOK Forensic Laboratory of the Bali Regional Police conducted Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) tests on bloodstains found on the body of a student at Mataram University (Unram) with the initials MV (19) and around the location where the body was found on the coast of Nipah Beach, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

Head of the North Lombok Police Satreskrim AKP Punguan Hutahaean said this step was important to ensure the compatibility of evidence with the victim and other parties possibly related to the MV death.

"This step is important to ensure the compatibility of evidence with the victim and other parties which may have something to do with the MV death incident," said Punguan by telephone, Antara, Tuesday, September 9.

Regarding the male colleague MV with the initials RA who was found unconscious near the victim's body with bruises on his head, Punguan said that until now he could not be questioned because his health condition was not stable.

"The role of RA is quite crucial, we continue to build communication with his family," he said.

Previously, the Director of General Criminal Investigation at the NTB Police, Kombes Syarif Hidayat, revealed that the results of a forensic autopsy at the Bhayangkara Mataram Hospital showed signs of sexual violence on the victim's body.

"There are torn wounds based on the results of the post-mortem and autopsy," said Syarif.
