Security Guard Officers Beaten, Police Secure 3 Buskers On Bengkulu Panjang Beach

The police have ensured that the Panjang Beach tourist area, Bengkulu City, is safe from acts of thuggery and street buskers that are troubling visitors.

"Along the tourist area and Ratu Samban District are total. There is no such thing as an element of thuggery here. There is no place and time for him to be there," said Bengkulu City Queen Samban Police Chief AKP Dendi Putra in Bengkulu, Antara, Tuesday, September 9.

As a firm step, the Ratu Samban Police secured three buskers who often forced visitors to give money at the exit of modern shopping centers in the Panjang Beach tourist area.

"The perpetrators were three people, the incident on Saturday. We received the report and immediately moved. On Monday (8/9), we have secured all the evidence and the suspect is currently at the Ratu Samban Police," said Dendi.

The incident began when the three teenagers were reminded by shopping center security officers. However, they did not accept it and instead carried out a beating that resulted in injuries to security officers.

"Often forcing or not (asking for ngamen money), which clearly disturbs comfort. If you are there often, visitors who will come out will automatically feel disturbed," said Dendi.

He added that the police routinely carry out patrols during vulnerable hours, especially at night, to prevent thuggery in the Panjang Beach tourist area, modern shopping centers, and the Ratu Samban District.

"We make sure there are no more buskers who force or interfere. There is no place and time for criminal acts here," said Dendi.
