Police Arrest Thrower Molotov In Front Of Central Java Police Headquarters In Riot Demo

The police arrested the perpetrators of throwing Molotov cocktails during an action in front of the Central Java Police Headquarters (Central Java) in Semarang which was marked by chaos on August 29, 2025.

Deputy Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police AKBP Jarot Sungkowo said the suspect MHF was arrested after officers conducted a series of investigations based on witness statements and evidence of recordings when the action took place.

The suspect, known as a student, he said, made a Molotov cocktail used during the action in front of the Central Java Police Headquarters.

"The suspect threw Molotov cocktails at the officer who was on guard in front of the Central Java Police Headquarters," he said in Semarang, Tuesday, which was confiscated by Antara.

For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 187 of the Criminal Code regarding crimes that endanger public security or Article 212 of the Criminal Code regarding fighting officers.

In addition to the perpetrators of throwing Molotov cocktails, the police also named two other suspects during a riot in front of the Central Java Police Headquarters.

The other two suspects who were detained were DMY (22) and VQA (17), each resident of Genuk, Semarang City.

Jarot explained that the suspect DMY was proven to have thrown stones repeatedly at the officers on guard during the mass action on August 29, 2024.

Meanwhile, the VQA suspect is known to have damaged the police logo during the action in front of the Central Java Police Headquarters.

The suspect DMY is subject to Article 214 or 213 of the Criminal Code regarding the resistance against officers, or Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding beatings, or Article 351 of the Criminal Code concerning persecution.

Meanwhile, the suspect VQA was charged with Article 406 of the Criminal Code regarding the destruction of goods.
