Papuan Police Arrest 4 Chinese Foreigners While Mining Illegally In Senggi
JAYAPURA - The Directorate of Crimes of the Papua Police arrested four foreign nationals (foreigners) from China and two other people for carrying out illegal mining in Senggi, Jayapura Regency.
Director of Criminal Investigation at the Papua Police, Kombes I Gusti Gede Era Adhinata, said the six were suspects.
The four suspects of Chinese nationality, CL (46) are survey machine technicians who oversee the production and training employees of Indonesian citizens, WCD (60) electrical technicians who are responsible for repairing damage at the site.
CHT (40) is an intermediary that connects investors with AAM HN and CD (41) are investors who are directly involved in the field.
Two other suspects, namely AAM HN (47/WNI) served as Director of PT Saveree Gading International Group and played a role in providing initial capital and infrastructure for mining and LHS (46) is an employee salary translator and coordinator.
The suspects are subject to Article 158 in conjunction with Article 35 paragraph (3) letter a of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 3 of 2020 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining, with a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison and a fine of up to Rp. 100 billion and Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code. "Currently, the location of mining in Kali Pur has been spread out by the police line since August 26," said Kombes Era Adhinata, accompanied by the Head of Public Relations Kombes Cahyo Sukarnito in Jayapura, Antara, Tuesday, September 9. From the suspect's statement, it was revealed that the addition had been carried out since last May and produced 275 grams.
