Husband Who Molested Wife Leaded To Death In Tangerang Successfully Arrested By Police In Bekasi

TANGERANG - Tangerang City Police (Polresta), Banten Police, managed to apprehend a peria with the initials EY (28), a suspected perpetrator of domestic violence (KDRT) against his wife, resulting in death.

Previously, the alleged perpetrator EY was on the wanted list (DPO) on August 30, 2025, until he was finally arrested by a joint police team at his hiding place in the Bekasi area.

"The perpetrator was arrested at his hiding place in the Bekasi area on Friday, September 5," said Tangerang Police Chief Kombes Andi Muhammad Indra Waspada Amirullah in Tangerang, Antara, Tuesday, September 9.

He said the investigative team was currently conducting an in-depth investigation into the alleged perpetrator regarding the motive for committing acts of violence against his wife.

"We are still investigating the case, including revealing the motive behind the incident," he said.

In this case, Indra explained, the domestic violence incident occurred on Wednesday (27/8) at around 23.00 WIB at night in a rented house in Ciakar Village, Panongan District, Tangerang Regency, Banten.

"As a result of this incident, EY's wife, victim IH (27) died after undergoing treatment for several days at the hospital," he said.

After allegedly molesting his wife, the perpetrator immediately fled. Meanwhile, the injured victim IH was helped by residents to be taken to the hospital. However, after several days of treatment, victim IH was declared dead on Saturday (30/8).

"The suspect EY is now carrying out an intensive examination at the Tangerang Police Headquarters," he said.

For his actions, the perpetrator EY was charged with Article 44 paragraphs (2) and (3) of Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
