KPPU Uncovers Allegations Of The Jambi Earth Stadium Tender Mafia
JAMBI - The Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) highlighted allegations of conspiracy in the tender process for the multi-year project for the construction of the Jambi Earth Swarna Stadium worth Rp250 billion sourced from the Jambi Provincial Budget.
The head of the KPPU Regional Office II, Wahyu Bekti Anggoro, revealed indications of the cooperation of a number of companies to win contracts unfairly.
The suspicious coordination pattern is the main concern of the KPPU because it is considered to have the potential to harm the state and society.
"The conspiracy to tender infrastructure projects can cause big losses, ranging from swelling the budget to decreasing quality of work," said Wahyu Bekti Anggoro.
Then KPPU also assessed that the winner of the project tender was a person who had problems working on the same project in Yogyakarta several years ago.
The KPPU is currently conducting an in-depth investigation by writing to related parties to collect evidence.
The initial steps in the form of requests for information to a number of parties have also been taken and if it is proven that there is a violation, the KPPU ensures that it will impose strict sanctions in accordance with statutory provisions.
In addition, KPPU appealed to all parties to maintain integrity in the procurement process and invite the public and the media to participate in supervising the tender so that it is transparent and clean.
"Information disclosure is the key to preventing fraudulent practices," said Wahyu Bekti.
