1 Woman Arrested, Team Secures Thousands Of Pills Of Ecstasy And 4.29 Kg Of Methamphetamine In East Aceh
The joint Aceh Customs and Excise Team and the National Police thwarted the smuggling of 155,000 ecstasy pills in operations in East Aceh Regency.
Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise in Aceh, Bier Budy Kismulyanto, said that apart from hundreds of thousands of ecstasy pills, the joint team also thwarted the smuggling of 4.29 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.
"There are 77 packs containing 155,000 ecstasy pills and four packs of crystal methamphetamine weighing 4,299 grams that are about to be smuggled in the East Aceh Regency area," he said in Banda Aceh, Antara, Tuesday, September 9.
From the results of the action, he said, the joint team arrested a woman with the initials S (29). Meanwhile, another perpetrator with the initials J managed to escape.
Bier Budy Kismulyanto said the joint operation to crack down on drug smuggling took place in Padang Kasah, East Aceh Regency, on Friday, September 5 at 00.30 WIB.
The operation involved the Aceh Customs and Excise Team Langsa and the Narcotics Investigation Center (NIC) of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim).
The operation began with information received by the National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit regarding the alleged shipment of narcotics from Malaysia by sea. The joint team then carried out a series of land and sea patrols since August 24, 2025.
At its peak, he said, on Thursday (4/9), the joint team received information that a motorboat carrying drugs landed in the waters of Kuala Idi, East Aceh Regency.
"The prohibited items were taken by motorbike to a house in Padang Kasah. Then, raided the house," said Bier Budy Kismulyanto.
During the raid, a person in the house fled towards an oil palm plantation.
Meanwhile, a woman was secured at the house along with 81 packs of ecstasy pills and crystal methamphetamine.
"Based on calculations, the evidence is equivalent to 176,495 people saved from drugs. If it is calculated from rehabilitation costs, the state's money that has been saved will reach Rp282.69 billion," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Customs and Excise Facilities of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Leni Rahmasari, emphasized that his party would not stop at just one action.
