Bank Muamalat Offers Sahaja Life Insurance
JAKARTA - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk believes the bancassurance business can continue to grow this year.
Moreover, there is an additional product that is now marketed directly in the Bank Muamalat office network, namely the Asuransi Salam Hijrah Sejahtera (Sahaja) owned by Sun Life Indonesia.
Bank Muamalat President Director Imam Teguh Saptono is optimistic about the acceptance of Sahaja's mental protection products by Bank Muamalat customers. Moreover, this product has been marketed directly by Bank Muamalat's customer service at the branch office so that customers get one-stop service solutions from product benefits to the Sahaja insurance policy.
"Alhamdulillah, direct marketing of insurance products is nothing new for Bank Muamalat. Moreover, all customers services of Bank Muamalat have been tested as a marketer for insurance products from the Indonesian Sharia Insurance Association (AASI)," said Imam, Tuesday, September 9.
He explained that Sahaja Insurance is a traditional sharia-based life insurance product that provides life protection benefits plus cash value (if any) and the final benefits of the contract given at the end of the insurance period. Sahaja products provide options for the duration of the insurance period that can be adjusted to customer needs.
Customers simply contribute IDR 6 million per year for 10 years to get life protection for up to 25 years.
Insurance compensation of up to 200 percent plus cash value (if any) will be paid if the customer dies in the month of Ramadan or while carrying out the pilgrimage and outside the clause, customers will still receive insurance compensation.
"Overall, Bank Muamalat's bancassurance business recorded a sales volume growth of 85 percent year on year as of July 2025," he explained.

Imam is grateful that the bancassurance business line can grow along with the reposition of Bank Muamalat's business segment to the retail segment.
In addition, this growth is also supported by urban public awareness in anticipating the risk of using sharia-based life insurance protection.
