Victims Died As A Result Of Israel's Aggression And Starvation In Gaza Strip Continues To Increase
JAKARTA - The death toll from aggression and hunger in the Gaza Strip, Palestine continues to grow, as Israel threatens to escalate attacks on the Palestinian enclave, while UN officials warn of such things only triggering more violence.
At least 64,522 Palestinians have been killed, while 163,096 people have been injured in the Israeli genocide war in the Gaza Strip since October 2023, Gaza's Ministry of Health said on Monday.
"Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the road because rescue teams cannot reach them," the ministry said, as quoted by Anadolu September 9.
The ministry further noted that the number included the death toll from Palestine while seeking assistance which reached 2,430 people and 17,794 others injured since May 27.
It also includes death toll from hunger and malnutrition in Gaza, which has reached 393 people, 140 of whom are children, since October 2023.
According to the ministry, 115 deaths, 25 of whom were children, occurred after the UN-backed Food Safety Fase (IPC) Integrated hunger monitoring system officially declared Gaza a hunger zone last month.
The latest conflict in Gaza broke out after a militant group led by Hamas attacked Israel's southern region, killing 1,200 people and another 251 being held hostage, according to Israeli calculations.
The two parties in conflict agreed on a temporary ceasefire bridged by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States on January 19.
Since March 2, Israeli authorities have closed all Gaza border crossings, which have left 2.4 million residents of the region starving. Israel claims this is to pressure Hamas to immediately accept the proposed ceasefire agreement.
The Israeli army then continued its attack on the Gaza Strip on March 18, following the end of a temporary ceasefire.
Last month, Israel's Security Cabinet approved plans to expand military operations in Gaza, but only approved the takeover of Gaza City. Since then, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has stepped up attacks on Gaza.
Yesterday, Israel ordered Gaza City residents to leave the region immediately after warning it would step up airstrikes and ground operations in the Gaza Strip in a "catastrophic storm" if Hamas did not release the last hostages he detained and surrendered.
In what he called the final warning, the Israeli military informed the Palestinian militant group that Gaza would be destroyed if it did not strip off arms and release 48 hostages who were held hostage.
"A powerful storm will hit the sky of Gaza City today, and the roof of the terror tower will vibrate," Israel's Defense Minister Katz wrote on X.
"This is the final warning for the killers and rapists of Hamas in Gaza and in luxury hotels abroad: Free the hostages and place your weapons - or Gaza will be destroyed, and you will be destroyed," he added.

Separately, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (HAM) Volker T\"ork said, "further militarization, occupation, annexation, and oppression will only trigger more violence, revenge, and terrorism."
"The international community is not carrying out its duties. We fail to protect the Gaza people. Where are the decisive steps to prevent genocide? Why do countries not do more to prevent terrible crimes? Countries must stop the flow of weapons that may violate the law of war against Israel," in a speech opening the 60th hearing of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, on Monday, quoted from WAFA.
T\"urk stressed the importance of increasing pressure to reach a ceasefire, releasing detainees and arbitrarily detained persons, and distributing adequate humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
