Rudy Mas Ud Murka See Jalan Sangatta Bengalon Is Badly Damaged, Threatens To Stop PT KPC Activities If...

East Kalimantan Governor Rudy Mas Ud threatened to stop mining activities in the East Kutai Regency area if the mining company did not immediately repair the severe damage to the Sangatta National Road.

The threat was conveyed by Rudy when he directly inspected the route, today. He found that the road conditions at the Crossing 4 Sangatta point were almost broken.

"I see that it's not dangerous anymore, but it's broken next door. It's just one way to go," said Rudy in a firm tone quoted from Antara, Sunday, September 7.

According to him, road damage due to mining activities has the potential to cause huge losses to the community. This is because the route is the main access to the distribution of logistics and transportation of workers in the northern region of East Kalimantan.

If this road really breaks up, logistics cannot be sent, workers cannot pass. The impact will be wide," he said.

Rudy emphasized that PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) should immediately coordinate more seriously with the East Kalimantan National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN).

"If in the near future there is no follow-up, then we ask that PT KPC mining activities be stopped until the road is fixed," said Rudy.

Responding to this, GM ESD PT KPC Wawan Setiawan stated that his party had made a number of improvements at several points, and would continue to coordinate with BBPJN.

"Indeed, there are roads that we still need to coordinate with BBPJN. We have done previous improvements," said Wawan.
