The Joint Team Finds The Body Of Passenger KM Dharma Rucitra VI Who Jumped Into The Seruyan Sea

The joint team found the body of Sefnat Onesimus (42), a passenger of KM Dharma Rucitra VI heading for Sampit-Semarang who jumped into the sea on Monday, September 1, stranded on Seruyan Regency's Thousand Cemara Beach, Central Kalimantan.

"After confirmation, it was true that the body was the victim or passenger of the ship that crashed in the Ujung Pandaran Sea, Teluk Sampit District," said Head of the East Kotawaringin Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Multazam in Sampit quoting Antara.

The discovery of the passenger's body on Friday (5/9) afternoon was discovered when the joint team continued the search for the second session, starting at 14.00 WIB. The search location target is to search Ujung Pandaran Beach, Teluk Sampit District, East Kotawaringin Regency to the beach in Seruyan.

At around 15:45 WIB, the team received information from the community that a body was found on the coast of Seruyan Regency's Thousand Cemara Beach, the Bakau River area. The team immediately rushed to the location mentioned.

The condition of the man's body was swollen. The clothes attached to the body were only blue jeans and white shoes, while the clothes had been removed.

After coordinating, the body was then evacuated to the Kuala Pembuang Hospital, Seruyan Regency for post-mortem, cleaned, and handed over to the family.

"White shoes and blue pants. Based on the characteristics and it has been confirmed that it was the passenger's body yesterday," said Multazam.

The incident occurred on Monday (1/9), at around 16.13 WIB. Based on witness testimony and seeing CCTV footage, the victim, who is known to have a mental disorder, is suspected of deliberately jumping into the sea.

At the time of the incident, officers tried to prevent the victim's reckless action. However, at that time the victim suddenly ran and immediately jumped so he didn't have time to catch up.

Officers on board tried to provide help by throwing safety buoys equipped with lights in the hope that the victim would survive so as not to sink. However, until the ship turned around to the scene, the victim remained invisible.

The ship had turned three times, searching at the scene, but the victim was not found. The ship then reported the incident, after asking permission to continue the journey.
