Minister Of Culture Affirms Synergy Of The Centers In The Success Of CHANDI 2025
DENPASAR - Closing the 2025 international forum for Culture, Heritage, Art, Narratives, Diplomacy, and Innovation (CHANDI) in Denpasar is an important momentum for the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon. In a joint meeting with regional heads and the Head of the Regional Preservation Center, Thursday, September 4, Menbud Fadli expressed his appreciation for the real support of the regions which he assessed determined the success of CHANDI 2025.
According to him, the success of this forum was born from the close collaboration of the central, regional governments, cultural and community actors. CHANDI 2025 is not just an international forum, but a reflection of our commitment to safeguarding cultural heritage while at the same time promoting Indonesian cultural diplomacy in the world," he said.
Fadli reminded that since the Ministry of Culture officially established on October 21, 2024, at President Prabowo Subianto's initiative, this nation has entered a new chapter. Together with Deputy Minister Giring Ganesha, he called the mandate to lead this new ministry a big responsibility. "Government is the foundation as well as the identity of the nation," he said.
He highlighted two important narratives: Indonesia as a mega-diversity country with 1,340 tribes and 718 regional languages, as well as one of the world's oldest civilizations with archaeological evidence such as ancient human fossils, the painting of the Leang-Leang Cave, to the Sangiran site. Culture, he said, was not only an identity, but also the support of the nation's economy.

Fadli emphasized the role of the regions, including 23 Cultural Preservation Centers spread across Indonesia. "Revitalization of local traditions to the village of cultural promotion can only be successful through central and regional collaborations," he said.
This meeting is also a space for dialogue between regional heads and head centers to share strategies. Fadli hopes that CHANDI will not stop as a celebration of culture, but will be the starting point for strengthening cooperation networks and opening up spaces for sustainable dialogue.
